Laura T. Brahms, associate attorney, graduated from O’Gorman High School in Sioux Falls, SD, in 2002. She then attended college at Augustana College in Sioux Falls and graduated in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and International Affairs, and minors in English and Philosophy. Laura then attended law school at the University of South Dakota School of Law and graduated in May 2009 with her Juris Doctorate degree. While in law school, Laura received three C.A.L.I. awards for excellence in Criminal Procedure, Business Associations, and Children and the Law, served as the Vice-President of the R.D. Hurd Volunteer Society, and participated in the trial team competition organized by the American Association for Justice.
Laura is admitted to the South Dakota State Bar (2009), the Minnesota State Bar (2011), and the Second Judicial Circuit Bar of South Dakota.
In 2014, Laura was nationally ranked as one of the Top 10 Attorneys Under Age 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys and was awarded recognition for her excellence in the field of Family Law.
Laura practices in the areas of family law, criminal defense, workers compensation, and general civil practice.
